Criminal Sentencing

Criminal sentencing is one of the most important aspects of case.  It is here that an attorney can really bring value to the client’s table.  Not only is it important to know the law, but it may be equally important to know the Judge.  Criminal defense lawyers should either know or get to know as much about the Judge’s sentencing style as possible.  Some Judges sentence much harsher than others.  While, in general, Judges may be limited by maximum penalties and the scoresheet of the defendant, deviations are common.
